Reading picture books helps infants put names on objects and actions

It is never too early to initiate language development. It starts with non-verbal cues like touching, using facial features such as smiling and laughing. Language development activities with music, singing, conversation and reading books with pictures and named objects in their environment all help them put words on things and actions.
